There’s a clarity to LÖV’s music that feels hard-won.
The Treaty 6, Saskatchewan-based Cree R&B/soul singer-songwriter is building serious momentum with emotionally direct songs rooted in independence, matriarchal strength, and self-definition. Her breakout single Mama gained strong viral traction and helped introduce her to a wider audience.
A key part of her recent sound is her work with Montréal-based producer Connor Seidel, whose credits include Charlotte Cardin, Half Moon Run, and Katie Tupper. The result is polished, spacious production that keeps LÖV’s smoky vocal tone front and center.
She’s now moving into full-project mode with her upcoming album Iskwêw (presale/preview live on Bandcamp). The title Iskwêw is a Cree word meaning “woman” — a fitting anchor for the themes of identity and strength running through this era.
LÖV is exactly the kind of artist Northern Dial is built to champion: culturally grounded, sonically current, and unmistakably authentic.
