LÖV

Treaty 6 Territory, Canada

LÖV is a Cree R&B and soul singer-songwriter from Treaty 6 Territory whose music is built around resilience, self-definition and matriarchal strength. Her work draws from UK-influenced soul and contemporary R&B, but the emotional centre is intensely personal: songs about independence, family, healing and the decision to reclaim control of her own story. That focus has made LÖV's rise feel less like a conventional debut campaign than a deliberate artistic reset, with each release strengthening a persona grounded in both vulnerability and authority.

A creative partnership with Montréal producer Connor Seidel helped sharpen that sound into a polished, spacious form where LÖV's smoky vocals remain the main event. Early singles including "Mama," "Matriarch," "Relate" and "Sister Era" built substantial streaming momentum, while "Mama" reached No. 1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown. Her music has also appeared on major Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists, and coverage from CBC and APTN has helped expand her profile beyond western Canada.

By 2025 and 2026, LÖV's presence was extending beyond recordings into fashion, live performance and artist-development spaces, including Native Fashion Week and a Massey Hall artist-in-residence program. Her debut project Iskwêw gives that growth a clear frame: contemporary soul built around Indigenous womanhood, family and autonomy without treating any of those subjects as marketing categories. Within Northern Dial's Indigenous coverage, LÖV represents the R&B side of a broader movement in which Indigenous artists are defining modern pop and soul on their own terms.
