Scott Helman

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Toronto singer-songwriter Scott Helman broke nationally while still in his teens, with the Augusta EP establishing the conversational writing and polished folk-pop sound that would become his foundation. "Bungalow" became a platinum Canadian single, turning an early radio introduction into a durable audience and helping Helman move quickly from emerging-artist status into national touring and awards recognition.

The 2017 album Hôtel de Ville widened his sound without abandoning the compact songwriting that drove the breakthrough. "PDA" earned gold certification, while the later Hang Ups EP produced another gold title track. Across this period, Helman accumulated seven JUNO nominations and toured with artists including Tegan and Sara, Shawn Mendes, Vance Joy, Walk Off the Earth and Dean Lewis, placing him firmly inside the generation of Canadian singer-songwriters who developed through both radio and festival circuits.

Helman's second album Nonsuch Park (sa) pushed the writing toward adulthood, anxiety and changing relationships, with "Wait No More" becoming another gold single. He has also used his platform for environmental advocacy, including the Evergreen Manuscript and MayDay initiatives around climate action. Helman's significance is less about one dramatic crossover than sustained Canadian pop craftsmanship: a decade-plus catalogue of accessible songs that repeatedly connected introspective writing to mainstream radio without flattening his personality.
