Justin Bieber

London, Ontario, Canada

London, Ontario-born and Stratford-raised singer Justin Bieber became one of the first global pop superstars to emerge directly from social media. Videos of his performances posted online led to his discovery as a teenager, and the 2009 EP My World introduced him to an international audience. His 2010 debut album My World 2.0 reached No. 1 in the United States and produced “Baby,” establishing Bieber as a defining teen-pop figure of the early 2010s.

He later broadened his sound through electronic, R&B and dance-pop collaborations, especially on Purpose, which included “Sorry,” “What Do You Mean?” and “Love Yourself.” His work with Skrillex and Diplo on “Where Are Ü Now” earned his first GRAMMY, while later albums such as Changes, Justice and 2025’s SWAG showed an increasingly R&B-oriented approach.

Bieber’s path from small-town Ontario performer to worldwide pop star became a template for online artist discovery, and his longevity has made him one of the most internationally visible Canadian artists of his generation.
