Northern Dial Artist Profile

Jon McKiel

Baie Verte, New Brunswick, Canada

Jon McKiel is a New Brunswick songwriter and recording artist whose work moves between guitar music, warped pop and home-studio experimentation. Gold Horatio, released in September 2026, was recorded with Jay Crocker in Baie Verte and Sackville, New Brunswick. The pair handled the arrangements, production and performances themselves, extending a creative partnership that has increasingly shaped McKiel's records. The result is intimate but strange around the edges, with familiar songwriting forms bent by unusual textures and production choices rather than polished smooth.
