Montréal rapper D-Shade is best known as a member of the pioneering trio Shades of Culture alongside Revolution and DJ Storm. Emerging from Montréal's early-1990s hip-hop scene, the group toured nationally and released records including Mindstate while helping establish an independent francophone and anglophone rap culture in the city.
