8485 is a Toronto-rooted singer, songwriter and producer who emerged from the internet-native experimental pop scene around 2020. After an earlier background playing in post-hardcore bands, she moved toward electronic production and became associated with the Helix Tears collective, working closely with fellow Canadian producer Blackwinterwells. Early releases such as alpha testing and the plague town EP established a sound that could move between hyperpop's digital abrasion and more vulnerable synth-pop songwriting.

That online scene made 8485 a frequent collaborator across a generation of experimental pop and digicore artists.
